Foundation stitches are a wonderful way to start out a project. It has a neat and tidy edge, a bit more stretch compared to a regular foundation chain, and it allows you to just keep on adding stitches until your piece is the length you want it to be! When you make foundation stitches, you are really making the foundation chain at the same times as you are working the first row of stitches. In this video, crochet expert Mary Beth Temple shows us how to make Foundation Half double crochet stitches. You’ve got to try out this technique, it is such a useful skill!
