Herringbone Double Crochet

Duration:   4  mins

Description

The Herringbone Double Crochet stitch is gorgeous variation on the Double Crochet, that has ample drape, and makes a relatively flat fabric. Each stitch is formed at a diagonal, thus creating a herringbone look to the stitch pattern when worked in turned rows. The hardest part about learning this stitch, is to keep yourself from accidentally making regular Double Crochet stitches! The Herringbone Double Crochet is fun to work up, and is great for making blankets, washcloths, scarves, and especially garments, since it has such a nice drape to it!

If you like this stitch, you should check out its cousin! Watch this video to learn how to do the Herringbone Half-Double Crochet (also called Knotted Double Crochet).
