Quick Tip: Tunisian Crochet Back Bump
Mary Beth TempleMary Beth Temple, an expert in Tunisian Crochet techniques, shares with us her best tip for beginning a Tunisian Crochet project. This technique will create a more-elastic first row, and gives you an edge that will closely match the edge at the end of your project.
Hi there, I'm Mary Beth Temple. And one of the things I do here is teach Tunisian crochet because it is my favorite technique. The best tip that I have is when you are setting up your first row to work in the back or the bump of the chain rather than in the front or the V. And we do this for a couple of reasons. One is that first row is more elastic so it fits better with the gauge of your project.
And two is you get this very nice edging that more closely matches the edging you'll have when you finish your project.
